A closed tip is tighter in the ear and does not cause whistling as easily as an open tip. The strongest feature of a closed tip is the amplification of low frequencies – it amplifies low sounds more than an open tip. We recommend always discussing a change of tip model with an audiologist, as the model heavily depends on an individual's hearing.
