Hearing aid tips

The hearing aid tip is a disposable ear insert that allows the hearing aid to sit comfortably in the ear. The tip is attached either to the thin tube of the hearing aid or to the earpiece. Unlike most wax guards, hearing aid tips are completely brand-specific. Each hearing aid manufacturer has its own tips, which are only compatible with their hearing aids. Below is a list of brands and the suitable tips for them. However, there is something common among all manufacturers, and that is the tip models. They have slightly different names, but broadly speaking, the features are the same, and they are as follows:

Open tip: The open fit is breathable in the ear and therefore very comfortable to wear. The open design also reduces the echo of your own voice compared to, for example, a closed tip.

Closed drop: A closed dropper is tighter in the ear and does not squeak as easily as an open dropper. The closed tip also amplifies more low sounds.

Power tip: Power tip is for those who need as much reinforcement as possible. The Power model is very tight in the ear and allows maximum amplification of all sounds

The designs of the devices are different, just like people's ears. It's very individual which fitting is right for each person, but hearing also dictates the fitting model to some extent. Therefore, we always recommend that you talk to your audiologist before changing your fitting model.
