Regular replacement of the wax guard ensures:
Hearing aids for the best sound quality
Longevity of the device
Reduction in the need for service visits
Remove one tool from the packaging.
The tool has two heads: empty head removing the old wax guard, and new wax guard at the other end.
Press the empty end into the old wax protector in the hearing aid and pull it out.
Insert the new wax protector into the hearing aid by pressing the other end of the tool into place.
Remove the tool and dispose of it after use to avoid mixing used and new wax protectors.
See also the instruction video on how to replace the wax guard.
At least once a month or more often if there is a lot of wax build-up
Replace immediately if hearing aid sound becomes weaker, distorted or disappears
The wax guard is not usually cleaned, but you can gently wipe off the shedding, for example with a cleaning brush (e.g. Multitool or Cedis).
