The U-tube of the hearing aid must be replaced regularly to maintain its best properties. The tube must not harden too much, but must be replaced before this happens. If you are using a hook-shaped earmould, you must first contact your audiologist and ask if it is possible to use a U-tube with your earmould.<\/p>\n

Instructions for changing the U-tube of the hearing aid:<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Pull on one end of the tube to disconnect the hearing aid.<\/p>\n

- Then pull the tube out of your earpiece.<\/p>\n

- At this stage, it is also a good idea to wash the earpiece\u00a0With Cedis cleaning tablets.<\/a><\/p>\n

- Measure the end of the tube in the hearing aid to the same length as the old tube.<\/p>\n

- Insert the new tube through the sound canal of the earpiece.<\/p>\n

- Cut off the excess tubing coming out of the earpiece.<\/p>\n

- Finally, attach the hearing aid to the other end of the tube.<\/p>\n

The U-tube is the most commonly used tube in hearing aid earpieces worldwide. It is different from the intermediate hose of a hearing aid, because the U-hose is inserted in an earpiece that does not have a hook, which is common in Finland. The advantage of using a U-hose is that there are no connections in the sound canal as in a hooked earpiece.
