The hearing aid wax guard, as the name suggests, helps ensure that the device does not break due to wax build-up in the ear. Wax build-up in the ear is natural, but if it gets into the hearing aid, it can block the device. However, wax protectors that fit different brands of hearing aids will come to the rescue and prevent wax from entering the device, thus helping you to care for your hearing aid! To ensure that your hearing aid works properly, the wax protector should be replaced regularly and at the latest when the sound quality has deteriorated significantly. To avoid having to keep buying more wax protectors, they are sold in convenient multi-packs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most common wax protector is Cerustop, which fits many brands of hearing aids. Here is the replacement guide for Cerusop, which of course also applies to other wax protectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Take one wax stick from the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Press the empty end of the stick into the wax protector in the hearing aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Use a stick to pull off the wax protector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Turn the stick over and insert the new wax protector into the hearing aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Gently pull out the stick and make sure the wax guard stays attached to the hearing aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
